Vehicles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police mentioned they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for information.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
